We just received an ARB LED Head Lamp and all we can say was, “WOW! This light is sweet!!” We use head lamps all the time, for camping, wrenching on our Jeeps and even for working around the house and this one, by far, is the best we have used.
It uses a Cree five watt LED that has an adjustable focusing lens so you can vary the light output from a wide to narrow beam. This light is really bright, officially up to 300 lumens per the specs.
When we opened the package, we tried it out in our bright and sunny living room and we could easily see the bright light across the room on the wall. Try that with your regular head lamp.
The ARB LED head lamp also has three modes, 100% power, 60% power and flashing. The lens body is aluminum while the rest is plastic. The light assembly is hinged so you can point the light where you want it. The light is powered by three AAA batteries that were included, which is always nice.
