Can you IMAGINE the looks if you rolled up for your next trail ride in a GREMLIN Jeep?
Yes, it needs to be swapped to 4WD, but we won’t apologize for loving it. This thing is SCREAMING for a 4.0L. A 401 with built axles would be completely sick, but you could buy this right now and have it up and running in 4wd with a 4.0L and an adapted Dana 300 for relatively cheap and you’d be getting looks left and right.
We had to save off the listing for posterity, here’s the craigslist link for however long it lasts:

Gremlin Jeep Listing:
This is a 1977 AMC Gremlin, with an 232 inline 6 motor. This car has a reinforced uni-body frame, with 1977 cj7 locking hub axles and leaf springs. The rear axle has been fully rebuilt.
This car is not 4×4, but it is set up to be. right now its has an automatic transmission, but the axles are 4×4 ready. You would need a front drive shaft and a different transmission to go 4×4, but it would be a fairly easy swap.
The wheels are aluminum alloy… I think 15″ x 11.5″
New:
Tires
rear leaf springs
Brakes (disc in the front)
Brake lines
Refurbished gas tank
Steering gear
shocks
exhaust manifold
fuel pump
wiper sprayer pump
master cylinder
radiator and hoses
battery (needs better anchoring)
a/c compressor
a/c condenser
a/c lines
heater core
exhaust
luggage rack
bearings
I know I’m missing some new parts…
Would trade for a vw bug
