I’m Eric and I have a Jeep problem.
It’s not that I own a huge fleet of Jeeps, it’s that I’m obsessed with Jeeps. It’s not that I have the specs for every Jeep ever produced memorized, it’s that I could read or talk about Jeeps, Jeep parts, Jeep modifications, Jeep fabrication, Jeep trips, Jeep fixes, Jeep trails, etc. non-stop.
I’m Eric and I blame the internet.
It all started as a kid with Hot WheelsⓇ, then R/C cars. Growing up in suburbia, I wasn’t lucky enough to be around people into cars, much less Jeeps, and didn’t work on anything automotive in any way until I was out of school. That’s when things finally progressed to the search for that first Jeep. A search that started online. I managed to find a rare Alaskan Postal Scrambler in Alaska, flew to Anchorage, bought it, fixed it up, and drove it home. I found it online, asked for advice on getting it home online, found people online who were along my route to NC who were willing to help if I needed it, found the parts to ship to AK online… see where I’m going? And that first Jeep was where the obsession started full-bore.
I’m Eric and I thank the Jeepernet.
I’ll spare you any more of my life story, the important part is that the Jeep internet (Jeepernet) is where I have learned the vast majority of what I know about Jeeps. That’s exactly why it’s perfect that I’m taking over JPFreek — a completely digital, Jeep-only magazine. I’m proof that an internet connection, a will to learn, and the guts to dive in head-first is all you need.
I’m Eric and JPFreek is back.
New logo, but we’ll have the same Jeep-only focus and cover everything you do to, with, and in your Jeep. We’ll uncover the coolest gear to put on your Jeep and take with you in your Jeep. We’ll work to bring you all the Jeep-related news you can take.
I’m Eric and I invite you to enjoy the (Jeep) ride.
