Al’s Liner

February 6, 2013 by JPFreek

Always on the look out for great do-it-yourself products, the Al’s Liner Truck Bed Liner Kit provides a professional quality truck bed liner kit that is easy to use. The Al’s Liner kit is versatile, allowing you achieve multiple textures and custom colors. Al’s liner is a three part blended polyurethane high solids coating. The kit comes with primer, tinting pigment, and a mixing paddle. Everything is pre-measured so all you have to do is mix and spray. The coating meets or exceeds professional quality bed liner standards.

The application process is simple and straightforward. The kit comes with very detailed directions. Following the instructions will provide for a top quality finish. The surface needs to be scuffed sanded and cleaned just as you would if you were applying any type of paint. Next apply the Al’s Liner Primer and allow 10 to 15 minutes to set up. Now your ready to spray on the Al’s Liner. You do need to pay attention to batch times so that the Al’s Liner does not set up before you are finished applying. Full directions can be found on the Al’s liner site at: www.alsliner.com/pdf/instructions.pdf

My project was my trusty off-road trailer. This trailer has served me faithfully for years but is starting to show its age so it is time for me to show it a little love and perform some upgrades.

Here is the kit with the optional Al’s Liner Spray Gun and Rubber texture additive. In only a couple of hours this kit really transforms the look and feel of the trailer bed!

With any paint project it all starts with the prep work. Here is the trailer bed cleaned, scuff sanded, and taped off.

Doing it yourself allows you you to choose your options when spraying the coating. Here I included the liner on the top rail.

The new finish looks like a pro did it and provides a new level of style and protection to the trailer bed.
