Armadillo Industries Billet Mechanical Door Stops

June 12, 2011 by JPFreek

One of the biggest frustrations I have when loading myself, or my gear, into my Jeep TJ is the door always closing on me, often times hitting me in the knees or in the back. So, when I came across the Mechanical Door Stops from Armadillo Industries, I thought I’d give them a chance to solve this minimal but frustrating problem. The investment made all the difference!

Armadillo’s Mechanical Door Stops are assembled here in the U.S.A. and feature two stop positions to allow for easy access in and out of your Jeep vehicle. On days when wind is a concern, these door stops will help prevent your doors from slamming shut and in my case, saving your back and/or knees while loading/unloading.

A retaining clip makes it easy to remove the door stop from the interior attachment point, allowing for easy removal of your Jeep’s doors on days when a ride in the sun with the top/doors off sounds good.

Installation is a breeze, taking just a few minutes to remove the OEM nylon straps and attaching the Armadillo Mechanical Door Stops to the pre-existing points in the door panel. No additional drilling is required, making this a simple and non-invasive product for your Jeep vehicle.

At $59.99 – $79.99 (depending on your model year Wrangler) I really like this product and as I mentioned before, it’s a sure way of keeping your Jeep’s doors from slamming into you and causing more than frustration.
