There was no indication that it had ever been off road or abused in anyway. Woody and I took the ZJ out for a ride and took turns driving. While I did the paperwork with the dealer, he was going in, out, over, and under with a fine tooth comb checking out everything. We were pleased with the purchase and now it is time to transform the ZJ to the “ultimate” overland machine. The moral of this quest for our “ultimate” Jeep was if you are patient and look hard and long enough, you can find your ultimate Jeep at the price you want to pay.
In future issues we will be writing about some of the parts and equipment that will be part of the transformation. We look forward to working with the “ZJ authority,” Kevin’s Off-Road in Phoenix. Starting with the installation of the top rated Clayton Off-Road 7” long arm suspension and everything in-between, the feature comprehensive build article at the end of 2011 will take you through the steps needed for you to build your own “Ultimate Overland ZJ.” Don’t miss an issue of JPFreek!
