JPF: The protection of critical components is a must for Jeeps. Weight is also a factor. What is the secret to “extremely lightweight but highly survivable?”
ASFIR: Our steel mounting brackets are designed to absorb shock and vibration upon encountering an object on the road. The brackets prevent shock or vibration from
passing from the skid plate to the vehicle chassis or any mechanical assembly. The use of ¼” HD aluminum skid plates makes a huge difference in weight and typically will outperform heavy steel.
JPF: You said that you currently make products from 11 different manufactures. What will be available for the North American market?
ASFIR: Currently we carry bumpers and skid plates for Jeep TJ and JK models, Polaris UTVs, and Ford and Chevy/GMC Diesel Trucks. By January 2011, we will have availability for Toyota Tacoma and FJ Cruisers; Nissan Frontier, Xterra and Pathfinder; Dodge diesel trucks, and Ford F-150. If it doesn’t appear on our website at www.aotechusa.com/, just call us for price and availability. Of course we can special order anything that is offered on the ASFIR Israel website (www.asfir.com) for other models and manufacturers such as VW, Mitsubishi, Mercedes, Suzuki, Isuzu and more.
JPF: Where can consumers find your products?
ASFIR: Being new to the North American market, we are just getting started setting up a dealer base. We will have displays at the Pomona Off-Road Show, the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Overland Expo, Moab, and others. Our products are available for purchase online and new products are continually being added to our website. We are headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona and customers are encouraged to call us for an appointment to see what we have to offer.
ASFIR’s exclusive North American Distributor is AOTECH located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
